My Story
I qualified as a pharmacist in 2010. Since 2017 I have worked as an independent prescriber inside NHS general practice, and for the last four years as PCN Lead Clinical Pharmacist across two surgeries in Thornton Heath — running my own clinics for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD and thyroid disease.
Which means I know precisely how much can be achieved in a ten-minute appointment. And precisely how much cannot.
What I kept seeing
Medication lists that grew a little longer every year, while the thing actually causing the problem was never addressed. Type 2 diabetes carefully managed but never reversed. Weight raised in the last forty seconds of an appointment, if at all, because there was no time and nowhere to send anyone.
I have spent nine years optimising other people's prescriptions. The uncomfortable truth is that a good proportion of those prescriptions existed because nobody had the time to deal with what came first.
Why it's personal
Sixteen years in NHS general practice, often looking after the same families across generations.
In the communities I serve, health is rarely discussed until it becomes a crisis. There is a reluctance to seek help early, a discomfort about certain treatments, and a quiet assumption that this is simply what happens to people like us as we get older.
It isn't. Much of it is preventable, and most of it is treatable long before we choose to address it.
"Treat the cause, not just the consequence."
Why I built this
I would rather spend an hour preventing something than a decade managing it.
Wellness Medics is the service I could never refer anyone to. Proper time, a full assessment, a written plan, and honest monitoring by someone qualified to prescribe — and qualified to say when medication is not the answer.
If any of this sounds familiar, I would rather have a conversation than sell you anything. Let's talk →
